What Influences Your Success - and How To Make It Better: Habits

The things you do on a day to day basis have a massive impact on your life. They seem very small and inconsequential but have a powerful influence on your life and successes.

Habits may be things like:

  • When you go to sleep and when you wake up
  • What you eat and drink every day
  • How you take good care of your body to cherish and revere the temple you live in
  • What you do every day
  • Your routines and patterns at work, at home or at school
  • Your behaviors and habits - both good and bad
All of these have a massive impact on your life and it's important to see whether the routine you have is hindering or helping your success. If the routine you have isn't helping you, it's called a self-sabotage, and it's important to work on that as it will help your achieving what you desire.

Start small with little subtle changes. If you take on a big project with overwhelming commitments, you are doomed to fail. That's why most New Year's resolutions are scrapped and forgotten by February.

Begin with simple ideas. Get out of bed on the opposite side than you usually do. Have coffee before your shower rather than after it. Take a different route to work. Eat at a new restaurant. Park at the far end of a parking lot and enjoy the walk and extra exercise you're easily adding to your day. Take the stairs rather than the elevator. Make it a point to say good morning or smile at 3 people you do not know. It all adds up to bring your behaviors from mindless habit to conscious choices. And that allows you to take control of your influences and enjoy your life more than ever!
